Xenon headlights are headlights, whose light source is an electrical discharge. These lamps have a high light output, compact size and long life.

The light source is the xenon lamp. Light creates the emergence of discharge between two electrodes that are placed in a flask filled with an inert (inert) gas. In the field of electrical discharge bulb is roughly the size of a pea.

The arc is ignited by high-voltage pulse several thousand volts. The source of such a large voltage pulse the ignition module. Color of the electric arc influences the composition of the inert gas. In the case of xenon gas is used just called Xenon. The color spectrum Xenon lamp is nearing the daylight spectrum. The color temperature of daylight is 5200 K, 4100 xenon lamps and halogen lamps to approximately 3 200K. Xenon also helps to quickly ramp up to full power discharge performance to meet the stringent discharge criteria automotive industry.

Among the advantages of xenon headlamps are:
▪ approximately 2.5 times more light than a halogen bulb (at the same wattage)
▪ greater persistence beam
▪ in the vicinity of the car is light diffuse
▪ compared with halogen lamp is 6 times higher service life, approx 3000 hrs

What You Did not Know:

Xenon lamps need for their proper operation support systems such as electronic control unit and starter.

Regulations for xenon headlights provide that the car must be equipped with automatic headlight range adjustment and washer.

Xenon headlights are actually a combination of xenon and halogen bulbs. Classic xenon headlamps are only dipped beam, main beam halogen bulb performs classic. If you are the beam consists of a xenon lamp, talking about the bixenonových headlamps .
