XDS

Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda to give their sportier models XDS electronic system. It is basically an electronic differential lock that improves traction during cornering car.

Volkswagen first introduced with the XDS system model Golf GTI / GTD . XDS system was developed to improve traction performance front wheel drive vehicle when cornering. XDS system is an advanced electronic differential locking mechanism cooperating with electronic stability system (ESP) , is actually an extension of already known of EDS .

Principle:
How XDS system work? In fast cornering system přibrzďuje internal (unloaded) wheel to prevent its rotation. The result of this intervention is better traction for quick cornering and less prone to understeer of the vehicle. Thanks to XDS may delegate to the outer wheel portion of the roadway greater torque. Thanks to XDS control is livelier, more accurate and better cornering vehicle keeps track. This gives the driver a better feel of the ride.
