TeleAid designation is a rescue telematics system used Mercedes-Benz. This system operates nationwide in the U.S. and nine European countries. The system is able to evaluate the emergence of an accident and automatically send a distress signal. SOS distress signal contains not only the exact location of the crashed vehicle, but also the type and color of vehicle. SOS also include information on the expected date of the seriousness of the accident.

Mercedes-Benz telematics system is TeleAid rescue system in which hardware and software developed by Motorola. An integral part of the whole system is a client assistance center (Client Assistance Centre). TeleAid system offers three different types of services.

SOS button

The first service is an automatic emergency call. The driver can manually trigger a call by simply pressing the SOS button, which will ensure connections with the driver of the emergency center operator. If necessary, the operator can establish a connection to the ambulance and call for help. TeleAid advantage of this system is that the operator will call the necessary vehicle information such as exact location, model and color of vehicle, in the form of data transmission. More modern versions of the data can TeleAid ABS , ESP and airbags predicted the severity of the accident. It all helps first responders in the early intervention. The system can also be activated automatically, in case of inflating airbags .

Two additional services offered relate to emergency calls in the vehicle malfunction and the possibility of obtaining information about Mercedes-Benz automobile. Each of these functions has its own button, with a clear symbol for the service.

European partner TeleAid service is T-Mobile Traffic. The system works in most countries of Western Europe. Its functionality and reliability is assured even in a serious car accident. The system has a backup battery and even a replacement antenna for the case that the impact destroyed the main antenna.
