The safety feature that automatically alerts the driver to the loss of tire pressure.
TPM of the English Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Tire Pressure Monitoring possibly, also can meet with the acronym TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). This system monitors the air pressure in tires. With the loss of pressure in the wheels then automatically notify the driver of the pressure drop.
Principle:
There are more technical execution. For example. Skoda Auto uses an indirect measurement of tire pressure sensors of the ABS system . If the control unit evaluates the change of a turning radius of the wheels, there are likely to decrease the pressure in this round. TPM system automatically turns the light on the instrument panel warning the driver to drop the tire pressure.
Another possibility to control the pressure may be additionally mounted meter. Each rim then has a pressure gauge, tire valve through which detects the actual pressure in the tires. This information is then transmitted to the controller or device.
What You Did not Know:
A system for monitoring tire pressure will be mandatory from 2012!
The European Commission decided to meet requirements of automobile clubs and experts from the automotive industry, according to which is the main cause of tire failure, slow loss of pressure. Properly inflated tires also have less rolling resistance, thereby reducing fuel consumption. According to Continental, if they have all vehicles in Europe, properly inflated tires, reduce operating costs by 3.4 billion euros a year. Reduction of course, also brings a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Environmental regulation gets cast. Another argument of supporters of the new regulation is shorter stopping distances and therefore greater safety on the roads.
