Even if you're a good driver and you drive without accidents, it is good to know the procedure for dealing with the consequences of an accident and to be prepared in advance. Here is some advice how to proceed.

First - Do not climb out of the car without a reflective vest. Visibility vest is mandatory in the following countries: Belgium, Montenegro, Finland, Croatia, Italy, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Spain. It is also obliged to have a vest pretty handy in the cabin, not in the trunk. Ideally you should have enough reflective jackets for all crew members.

Second - Accident carefully document. Best way is to take pictures of the accident, including the neighborhood.

Third - Get as much information about other participants and witnesses of an accident. Above all, their names, document numbers, car license plates and the names of insurance companies.

4th - Contact the police whenever there is personal injury or material injury to the insurance company you want. In many states it is good to call the police, even if the damage is visible. You avoid possible problems at the border.

7th - Remember to always proceed according to laws and regulations of the State in which the accident occurred.

8th - Keep prepared documents: passport, driver's license, registration certificate and a small green card.

9th - Without undue delay report the accident insurance company.
