PPDB (Pedestrian Deployable Bonnet pyrotechnic)

Principle

Active bonnet operates on a relatively simple principle. Lifting the bonnet is increasing distance from the hard parts such as engine, etc., this creates more room under the hood of the body to slow down pedestrians. A raised front bonnet acting as a sort of cushion and shock absorber for the body pedestrians. The firing occurs in only 30 ms.
