Emission standard EURO

Euro emission standards applicable in the European Union sets the limit values of exhaust emissions.

The euro is mandatory emission standard setting limit values of exhaust emission . For example. New Euro 5 limits the amount of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the amount of particulate matter (PM). values are given in milligrams per kilometer. These substances are not the only ones that car deleted. There is as carbon dioxide, which is often mentioned in connection with global warming, the standard does not address it. There are also sulfur compounds.

Introducing the new Euro currency is a single event. Changes related to first new models introduced in the European market (for Euro 5 was a deadline 1.9.2009). Cars, which had come up for sale do not meet Euro 5. I must say that most reputable manufacturers of Euro 5 has long been respected. From 2011 to meet Euro 5 should all newly manufactured automobiles. Owners of older cars may remain at rest, the new rules will not apply.

History:

The first standard dealing with the amount of exhaust fumes originated in California in 1968. On the old continent began to pay the first emission standard in 1971 - 15th UN Euro first appeared in 1992. Since then, almost regularly every four years, comes a new emission standard Euro. The higher the number the greater stringency of standards. In 2009, the entry into force of Euro 5 and from September 2014 Board Euro 6
