Car vs. field or large SUV
German Research Institute of Insurance (UDV) has organized a series of crash test standard passenger vehicle and large SUVs . The results were alarming. Even at a speed of 40 km / h was able to dent Toyota RAV4 side Opel Astra to the extent that the driver suffered severe injuries. The crew escaped by Toyota without serious injury. If we leave aside the difference in body resistance against lateral and frontal impact, we find that the problem lies mainly in the greater weight and greater height off-road vehicles. The greatest risk allegedly threatened by older SUV and off-road , among other things, because they often have a tough chassis frame.
