BAS is an acronym denoting Brake Assist. Brake Assist can monitor the intensity of depression of the gas and the findings raise the effectiveness of the brakes.

BAS is an acronym denoting Brake Assist, this was an abbreviation of the English Assistant, Brake System. BAS system monitors the speed and intensity of the foot brake. With these parameters the system is able to evaluate the critical situation and possibly increase the pressure in the brake system. This achieves a greater braking force at the same pressure on the foot pedal. It also shortens the braking distance by up to 20%. Brake Assist feature is active safety .

There are three basic types of BAS: electronic, mechanical or hydraulic brake assistant. Their function is essentially the same, differing only in the manner of taking the necessary signals. Under the brake pedal is located sensor that senses speed and pedal power. On reaching the limit value is activated brake assist, which accelerate start-up brakes by raising the pressure in the hydraulic brake system. BAS shorten the time required to achieve maximum braking effect.

Limit values for the activation of brake assist are based on service experience. Few experienced drivers sešlapují either pedal fast and low power, or too slowly and with great force. In these moments hit BAS. Dobrzďování slow or přibrzďování system is idle.
