AlcoKey key is a new brand developed by SAAB. The wrench handle is a small mouthpiece, through which it is possible to test blood alcohol. The key control unit communicates with the car and do not allow drunk drivers to start the vehicle.
Alcokey system developed by Saab to reduce the number of accidents caused by alcohol. The system is the key with a small mouthpiece and data communicating with a transporter vehicle control unit.
After pressing the button opening the car door is activated by alcohol sensor on the key. The driver then blows into a small mouthpiece, the performs a breath test for alcohol in the blood. His breath is a semiconductor with a small sensor in the key directly evaluated. Analyzed data are sent to the control unit. The key then turns green or red button, depending on if the driver is fit to drive.
If the light is red, it indicates that alcohol was measured and the control unit can not command the immobilizer to allow engine start. But to treat the situation when blowing into the mouthpiece of another person is more complicated! The solution brings new alcohol test from Nissan .
